I have read your story with tears in my eyes. What a challenge your poor son must have had to have coped with this for so long - and what a remarkably brave young man, to keep smiling against all the odds. It also sounds as if he had a very strong, supportive and loving mum and I am sure that he is equally proud of you.

I lost my brother, when he was only 28 and I know just how hard that was for all of my family.

I am so sorry to hear about what your son had been going through. My 19 year old son had recently had surgery to remove a brain tumour grade 4 and they seem to think it may have spread to his spine too. He is so angry and upset it's heartbreaking to experience this.  I keep asking why has this happened to him and what will happen in the future if he survives. He is literally fighting for his life now.

I am so sorry to hear that you are going through this heartache too. This is hard at any age, but totally tragic in someone so young. It is impossible not to feel angry and put upon, but this doesn't help any of you in the long run. 

The important thing is to support your son in all of his gruelling treatment, let him know just how much you love him and try to make memories. Try to take things day by day and don't look to the future. It is impossible to tell what it may hold and no amount of worry will change things.
