Hi. I've had some gut issues and undertook a FIT test. The result came back on Monday with a result of 27. As I'm sure you know the threshold is 10 (I forget the metric specifically). So the doc wants me to undergo a colonoscopy. This fills me with dread. Notsomuch the procedure, though I'ms ure there are are more enjoyable ways to spend a morning. It's the prep: food has always been an isssue for me emotionally and having to skip meals for an entire day is, to say the least, daunting. This is compounded by the travel distance (and transport itself is a problem).
Apparently 27 isn't a very high score (certianly compared to those I've heard others quote on facebook!) and I have to keep persauding myself to go through with this rather than call it off. My gut issues are just a bit weird, btu they aren't painful and i'm not bleeding all over the place for example. Just some weird diarrhea that I'm inclined to think is either stress/IBS or possibly bile acid diarrhea. Of course I can't say for sure as I'm not a doctor.
It's all bit scary. Thanks
