Endometrial worries

I have been having trouble with severe periods, intense heavy bleeding and pain for about 8 months , I now have pain every day including my back, ca125 of 78, spotting in between periods and watery stuff (best way to describe) saw a gynacologist ( not sympathetic at all!) endometrial lining 6mm and fibroids , made to feel I'm just overreacting, now going in for ablation , had more ca125 blood tests with no results given, doctor seems to act like all I have is bad periods and should manage them better ( on medication to ease pain during periods) feel like no one is listening to my concerns and it's so frustrating, has anyone else had this?? I'm 52 and no sign of menopause yet

  • Have they given you a consultant referral at all?

    Do you have children?

Any family history of gynae or breast cancer?

Also I'm guessing this is a male doctor?

From what you are saying in your post, you should qualify for a two week urgent referral to rule out cancer. Print off the NICE guidelines and go armed with them if need be.

I'm 40, currently undergoing treatment for endo cancer. Had similar symptoms and went back and forward for 6 years before my tumour was taken out and biopsied under a general anaesthetic that was supposed to be to fit a coil as the attitude was still about 'managing bad periods.'. Even screaming in pain when they tried to fit a coil prior to the GA, they were suggesting I was making a fuss.

  • It was at the two week referral that he made me feel like that,   Today saw a lovely person who did take biopsy's and removed two polyps she found, they keep pushing to have a coil even though I don't want that ,

they wouldn't do ablation cause she said biopsy was needed first, she was fantastic today explaining things , pity she is not my gynaecologist, I have to go and see him in four weeks and I'm sure that will be a joy .
I hope you are doing well and beating this horrible disease ️

  • I'm so sorry you were made to feel like that!! I'm really strongly of the opinion that unless you own a uterus then you shouldn't be allowed to be medically involved with them!. The other thing with the coil is that if the heavy bleeding isn't treated, they can very easily dislodge or fall out completely.

I do hope you get nice speedy results. Thinking of you there and please do check in again ️

  • Thank you for your support hopefully get some answers soon, same to you keep fighting and keep your head up ️
