  • Hi Wee_Marie,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

Side-effects of Letrozole vary and some people get through their course without any at all. I took it for 6 and a half years and my main problem was with my joints. This is a legacy that I still live with 13 years on. The flushes started upon diagnosis and are another long-term legacy. Like you, I was post-menopausal when diagnosed, but these were a whole different ball game.

I had been taking Evening Primrose tablets to deal with these, but had to stop, as this causes a reaction with some cancer medication. My surgeon suggested that I took Starflower capsules to help this.

My GP prescribed Clonidine for the hot flushes, but this didn't work for me. I found that taking certain brands of Letrozole made this worse, so I stuck to the one brand. I also tried sleeping on a Chillo Pillow. Have a word with your breast care nurse. I'm sure that she'll have plenty of suggestions which might help. When are you due to have your surgery next week? I sincerely hope that it all goes well.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
