Skin biopsy

Hi there

 

im now to this forum and just wondered.. I have had a skin lesion since Xmas. Started off looking like a blemish and then gradually grew and looked like a boil. Cut long story short; I tried so many creams. Also had antibiotics from GP and nothing has got rid of it. 

I then had a 2 week referral as was told it could either h an infected cyst or nasal cell carcinoma. I had photos done and then asked to go in for a biopsy. That was 2 weeks ago. 
 

Im just really worried and wondered how long others have waited for these kind of results?

    Biopsy results are taking 3 to 4 weeks at the moment where I live. Then add a few days for someone to look at the results, dictate a letter and get it posted to you.

    Waiting for diagnosis is said to be the worst bit.

    Once you have a diagnosis you can then concentrate on getting treatment to get rid of the lesion.

    If it is a cyst or a basal cell carcinoma they can both be easily removed by surgery with a local anesthetic and give a 99% cure.

    Thanks Sigurd. I just worry cos I've had it since Xmas and I keep thinking the longer it goes on; the worse it will get. Then I've had neck pain and worries that it's all connected. Maybe it's stress I don't know :(
