Terrified of Plenvu, in midst of colonoscopy prep…

nevermind.  sorry to have posted and have deleted my overlong background/story.  People who need more urgent help are already disappearing off the pages, as so many posts are made.

colonoscopy tomorrow - possible lower GI cancer.  scared, in severe pain.  nevermind.

  • Hi teeMin,

The forum is for anyone who may be affected by cancer so please don't apologise for posting as you are just as important as anyone else who posts on Cancer Chat.

As you have noticed, the forum can get very busy at times and unfortunately some posts may not be seen as quickly as others as a result. We try and respond to the posts that this may have happened to as soon as we can although I'm sorry we weren't able to reply to you before you had your colonoscopy.

I really hope the prep went well and you didn't experience too much pain or discomfort during the procedure but if you have any questions about anything that happened during your appointment, do give our cancer nurses a call. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and they'll do all they can to help and put your mind at ease.

We'll have our fingers crossed you won't have to wait too long for your results, and that they bring good news when the time comes.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator

  • Thank you, Steph.  Prep with Plenvu truly was awful.  Never again.  Procedure- they used half what they'd normally use for sedation, so I had severe probs.  However...Results were not as feared, TG.  Besides the Crohn's, I have, apparently, a gut that simply is defective, doesn't function as a normal one would.  Blood not from C.  I think perhaps it's best I leave this forum to those who truly and desperately do need it.  Really sorry.  Had been so scared for so long, seeing blood, constantly in extreme pain, unable to function, go anywhere, just...live.  And they say if you see blood in your poo, have it looked into asap.  That's been done now.  I may not have C, but I'm still left with problems that make my daily life unbearable.  And all the endo nurse said was get CBT.

But my probs are nothing compared to the thousands posting for help here.

    Thank you for replying.

To any and everyone else who may read and be dealing with the real C, or bereavement or the many other issues I saw as I scrolled thru this forum, god bless and help you and give you strength...and, I hope, help from someone else here, who will find your post and reply.

    bye now.

    love,

    teeMin

  • Hello teeMin

I'm glad to hear that the hospital team was able to put your mind at ease today regarding any possible cancer diagnosis. It obviously doesn't resolve the issues that you're having and I do hope that you're able to find the help and support you need to move forward and improve your quality of life.

    Sending our best wishes,
