Hi
I had a cervical biopsy done 25 days ago.
Should I of heard by now?
HI Fallmare,
I would have expected you to have heard by now. Are you in an area that is still being hampered by Covid? There is a delay in some areas because of this. Why not phone your consultat's secretary and ask if your results are back yet?
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Here's hoping for good news.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
It took just over 4 weeks for the results from my womb biopsy to come through in the summer - they came by post. I rang up at about the 25 day point and all they would tell me was that the results would arrive by letter. I'm pretty sure I would have had a phone call before then if they had needed to see me again quickly. As it was, my outcome was to have a repeat biposy six months later. I'm now awaiting results from that but they indicated that they would contact me if they needed to and otherwise I would see them again for another biopsy in 6 months time.
I think some aspects for me are similar to you as I was also on the mirena coil, started spotting and once it was removed then started with irregular bleeding and then almost constant bleeding, despite supposedly being through the menopause. I was put back on the coil at my most recent biopsy and all being well will need two more biposies six months apart before being discharged (well at least for that aspect, multiple issues here)
I hope that you hear soon, the waiting really is horrible
Thankyou so much jolamine.
I appreciate you taking the time to message me.
I'll have to put my big girls pants and phone if it does not arrive today xx
Good morning Leni
Thankyou so much for messaging.
Yes we are similar.
Apparently I'm out of the menopause.
My mirena was at its 5 year span a year ago.
Was told by a consultant they can last for up to 10 years.
Had spotting on and off for the past year.
Anyway in January I had a transvaginal scan. And he tried to remove the coil (I shouldn't of agreed as on insertion it was horrific) anyways he couldn't get it, (it's stuck) so I have to be put out for that. But after the transvaginal he said I'll refer you for a colposcopy.
Why??
Again anyways at the colposcopy the top guy says I doubt a biopsy will be needed. But no..he did do it.
First guy said lining was nice and thick.
Next guy says your lining is very thin.
I'm lost.
My health anxiety is off the scale normally but this is awful. I'm scared to ring but I'll have to if no news today.
But.... you gave me some comfort by saying you think you would of had a phonecall before if there was a concern xx
Hi
Postman been.
No letter.
I'm now day 26.
I'll give it till Thursday and I'll ring.
I did attempt to ring a few minutes ago but nerves got the better of me xx
Hi Fallmare,
The sooner you phone, the sooner you'll be out of this misery.
Regards,
Jolamine xx
I know your right xx
Thankyou
Hi Fallmare,
You won't get the results over the phone. The secretary may have you down in the diary already, or may have to find out what has happened to your results. There has to be an MDT (multidisciplinary team) meeting, after your results are returned, before you are told what the results are. These are usually held weekly, but there may be a delay in this for some reason - again the secretary would know.
Keeping my fingers crossed for you!/
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi
Goodness me I'm more worried.
2 days off 4 weeks is a long time.
I appreciate you keeping your fingers crossed for me, it means a lot xx
Hi Fallmare,
Fortunately, the amount of time it takes to give you your results, has no bearing on the outcome. People 'get lost in the system' quite often and it doesn't do any harm to make sure that you're not one of them.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
