Branchial cyst surgery

Good evening,

I hope you are well. I have a branchial cyst surgery coming up and I am really nervous about it. Never had surgery in my life before.

Has anyone had this surgery before? What was the recovery time please?

Any information will be helpful :)

thank you!

    Hi Kutty,

I notice that nobody has replied to your post yet, so I just want to wish you a very warm welcome to our forum.

I have never had a brachial cyst, so I cannot help you with that. However, I have had 2 bouts of Colloid breast cancer and several other operations. There really is nothing to worry about. Put your faith in your care team, who do this procedure regularly. Basically, you will have an injection, which will put you to sleep and it will all be over and done with when you wake up.

Recovery times vary between different people. The person best placed to tell you this, your consultant, who will have access to all of your medical notes. I would expect this to be a fairly minor procedure in comparison to what many others here are going through and I wouldn't expect recovery to take that long.  That having been said, I am not a doctor! I was out shopping 3 days after I had a double mastectomy. You might find it helpful to phone our nurses and see what they advise. They are available Monday - Friday from 9.00am - 5.00pm and their number is 0808 800 4040.

Have you got a date for your surgery yet?

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
