Post Op Pain

Hello

I had a grade 1 tumour & biopsy on 15th Feb both done from the same incision top of right breast. I am so glad it is out, but the pains, swelling, discomfort & tenderness came as quite a suprise. I normally have a high pain threshold but still the pain continues. I am doing excercises & taking i ibuprofen & paracetamol. (I cannot take codine). Any advice welcome have recently been putting a soft fluffy sock in my armpit x I also feel guilty posting this as with Grade 1 compared to others I am quite lucky xx

  • Hi Foxyvo, Don't feel quilty or silly ,you have been through the same type of surgery as many of us. Your only a few days post op. Your doing all you can keep taking pain relief & rest it takes time . I am 11 weeks post op & still only sometimes have a pain that comes from out of the blue. Take care.

  • Hello Pipestril

Thank you so much for your reply. I keep thinking it should feel better soon & is this just me being a wimp. People at work who have been through it too never mentioned the after pain. But some had 2 incisions for there tumour & lymph node removals. Where I had one incision so I'm assuming they had dig there way through a little.  I hope your pain goes completely soon. Talking about blue I still have a blue boob in my bra lol!

  • Hi

Thought I best explain more 1 line incision from lump removal & sentinel node removed for research investigations as on Poetic A study no nodes found to be involved at ultrasound biopsy stage. Incision round nipple for reduction surgery rather than empty dip, didn't fancy back fat thing ( wet ooze ) irritable. Yes nipple blue or very white in cold but very pink normally. I too think they could have gone deep as pain probable nerve healing . Give it all time. Best wishes.pip

  • Foxy

I had this operation in July 22 I didn't have much pain at all it was minor slight discomfort rather than actual pain I would check with gp incase there is maybe a infection that's causing the pain lovely

    take care love Lara ️

  • Hello Lara

Thank you for your reply. If it continues I will speak to GP.
