Thanks for a reply. It's all moving so fast which is good. Did you have radiotherapy after?
hugs from me too
Sorry to hear your news. I am a few weeks ahead of you ... had my lumpectomy 5 weeks ago. My results appointment is tomorrow. The operation was okay, day surgery. I thought I would bounce back to work but actually very tired and brain fog for first 2 weeks. I then got Covid which completely exhausted me so have no idea what I would have been like with 'just the op'. Ended up taking 4 weeks off work but am feeling normal me now. Just waiting to see what is next is the worst bit. Possibly more surgery if margins not clear. The consultant said at diagnosis that he couldn't rule out radiotherapy- whatever that means - a chance I guess that I won't have that ♀️.Good luck with it all and be kind to yourself.
Julie
yes I had radiotherapy I had 5 sessions over 5 days it went really well I also take a tablet now a blocker which a lot get bad side effects in my opinion I have had no trouble at all with these but I have had a weight gain I'm not sure if that's back to eating everything in site though
I wish you the best in here if you need a chat love Lara ️

Hi Julie,
A very warm welcome to our forum. I am glad to hear that things are moving quickly for you. It does sometimes feel a bit overwhelming when everything is happening so quickly, but the waiting is such a worry that you'll be glad that it's all over and done with quickly.
Have you been told what type of cancer you have? Place your faith in your care team and get on with your treatment. It's only a few months until you'll be back to normal.
I have had 2 bouts of cancer and have had a lumpectomy, followed by a double mastectomy the following year. That was 13 years ago and I still live a busy and fulfilling life.
Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.
Kind regards,
Jolamine xx
Hi SL51,
I hope that your results today were good and that your surgeon has achieved clear margins. You'll find it all less daunting when you know what treatment follows from here.

Thank you for replying. It seems to be happening so quickly which is good. Any hints on how to get through the waiting period?
much love

Thanks Jolamine, unfortunately did not get clear margins so surgery further surgery soon. Good news was still DCIS intermediate with no evidence of invasive cancer so likely won't need radiotherapy . I am so lucky but still just want it all over.
