Hi north lass, in 1968 I had a partial lung middle lower lobectomy, I was1 week past my 12th birthday & still here. Have had an active life nothing stops me, I have skied, swam , walked miles. My job as a nurse I should also say my partial lobectomy was not cancer & growth found to be benign. Only lately have I found myself more breathless. Before covid in 2o19  was put on clenil & ventolin inhalers. A little improvement I think mine is mostly age related. I still cycle just not up hills. Hope this encourages you.best wishes.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.  Wow, 1968; so pleased all has gone well for you over the years. I wonder if mine is age related too, as we must be of a similar age.

Yes north lass we have something in common but my part lobectomy was found to be benign. Follow ups for 10 years with the surgeon . That's it.

Mine wasn't cancer, they found tb scarring. Bit of an error in their judgement but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. No follow ups apart from one after op, so have been left to my own devices since.
