Hpv positive and borderline cell changes for 3 years running

Hi,

I'm just looking for a bit of advice please, I've just received my smear results which are positive hpv and borderline changes.  I'm not too worried as I've had these same results for the past 3 years now, each year they have took biopsies said i have CIN 1 then said to just come back in a year for another smear test.

Which they have done for the past 3 years.

My question is does anyone know or has anyone had similar?

I was wondering if this time they will just remove the cells possibly, seen as they have been there for 3 years, or are they just going to keep taking biopsies then leaving me another year until the cells develope more? I'm glad they aren't developing further but I'm just a bit worried that both the hpv and borderline cell changes haven't gone within 3 years.

Many thanks.

  • Hi,

I hope your well first time using this site for advice but I need it my heads spinning.
my partner, had a growth on her vagina at the bottom of her right labia, in December 2021. And I noticed that it had like a white growth on this skin that had formed. Anyways we go doctors and the first thing they said to be done was a smear as she hadn't had one for over 8 years which is bad and I told her that when we first met. Anyways smear comes back abnormal cervix cells and high HpV

she then goes for a colonoscopy, but in this time still the doctor didn't know what this skin was that was growing they was now concerned about the abnormal cells on the cervix and didn't really care about the growth. Just told us both to get checked out STI wise. Which we both did. Both came back clear. We ask the nurse at the STI clinic what they think it could be they said they didn't know. This is before she had to have the colonoscopy for the cervix.

anyways day comes for the colonoscopy we ask 5 women nurses what they think it could possibly be after they did the procedure on the cervix (laser treatment) and they said your not here for that. Your basically here for the abnormal cells on the cervix. Which I found very rude. Not oh we're not sure but we could find someone else.

anyways after this and after she recovered. We go back doctors because now in June 2021 it has 2 white things on the skin. She gets sent to gyno. They didn't know what it was said they will send her to someone else.

finally get an appointment with a guy who looked concerned when he first seen it. Now it's like Oct 2021 and it had 4 white patches. He took a biopsy from the middle of the skin which made it look like it had 3 in the end. Sent it off. Came back VIN 3 pre cancerous cells. And only tomorrow finally having the operation but it's also grown on the left labia and it has skin again with 2 patches on it. So the bottom of her vagina is covered. And like I said over what a year later they finally find out what's wrong.

anyways point being you should of had some kind of treatment if your smear came back abnormal.
my partner had her smear not long ago because she had To have one 6 months after treatment to the cervix and they won't tell her the results untill tomorrow.

im very scared, erm I feel she's been betrayed from all this running around appointments a year later to it spreading very fast. They say yes it's a slow growth and she did say she's had this "skin" for many years but not with the white on it. So that is the cancer.

you know your body. I'd seek a second opinion about your smear and ask questions because If I hadn't for my partner none of this would of been sorted out till this day.

    wosh you all the best
