Grade 3 Anaplastic Astrocytoma

In 2001 I started having seizures regularly (Grand Mail)

sometimes 4 per day, I learned I had a cyst in the right temporal lobe.

so I had surgery in 2006 to remove, at this stage was confirmed as grade 2 astrocytoma. 6 months later, post op mri showed tumour had returned, a further biopsy followed by 6 weeks radiotherapy confirmed Grade 3 astrocytoma.

seizures increased for the following year. My consultant confirmed in no uncertain terms the tumour would return in the form of glioma.
it's now 2023 I'm now 47 & I wonder why am I still here?

I wanted to reply to say thank you for sharing your story with others here on the Cancer Chat forum. Hopefully it will help someone who finds themself facing the same diagnosis in the future.

I think many of the members here will understand the "why me?" thoughts and questions that can with and after a cancer diagnosis. I think they're a natural part of the process but probably the most important part is not to dwell on them and to just get on with living

    Sending you my best wishes,
