Had radioactive iodine 22 Dec.  Have had salty mouth since 31st Dec.  Everything I eat and drink tastes of salt.  Did all the chewing of gum and sucking of sweets for several days after recommended.  Spoke to consultant's secretary today and been advised to massage saliva glands and drink water.  Is this a usual occurrence or am I unlucky?  Any advice would be appreciated.  Thanks
