Lumps

Hey, newbie here quite a while ago I noticed a pea size lump but I put it down to gristle or something it's hard and moves about slightly.. but found another on my other Breast last week so made doc  apt.. went for examination a couple days ago and doc was struggling to find the lumps I was talking about eventually he found them but also found a 3rd slightly larger one ( I've felt and felt since , I stil can't feel what he's found ,I can only feel the 2 I initially found) .. he ls referring me for a mamagram so it's a waiting game.. my guts telling me it's nothing but if course there is the chance it could be so asking if anyone's experienced similar and it's turned out ok?  Thanks in advance x

    A very warm welcome to our forum.

    I am sorry to hear about your symptoms and would love to be able to put your mind to rest. Unfortunately, it is impossible to be sure until you have had some simple tests done. These usually include mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. The biopsy is the definitive test. 

    Not all lumps are cancerous. There are other less serious causes too, such as cysts, fibrous changes or naturally lumpy breasts. It is a fact that 80% of people who attend the breast clinic get the all clear. You are doing the right thing by getting this checked out and I sincerely hope that all turns out well.

    Hi jolamine thank you for your response appreciate it , yeah your right , I am hopefull it's no more than a cyst or 2 .. my mother had breast cancer 9 years ago ( still in remission and thriving thank god) .. not the hereditary type though so I take comfort in knowing it isn't guaranteed to pass down to me .. also my sister had a lump a while ago was a cyst she had removed .. only think that does concern me is the change of shape in my breasts but I've put that down to weigh loss but they are now very dented I have no meat so I found the lumps fairly easy myself ( bar this 3rd one the doc found) .. I will keep you updated waiting for my appointment he said it should be within 2 weeks xx
