Post menopausal bleeding

Hi, I'm 54 & had a bleed approx a year after my last period, was sent for a scan/probe, when I got there I was given a biopsy, consultant wasn't unduly concerned but asked to see me in 3 months, had my follow up scan 2 weeks ago & received my letter yesterday - it said my ovarian cyst had grew & my womb lining appeared thicker than it should for someone after the menopause (at my first appt, he said I could still be peri menopausal?) & would like to see me, should I be worried? I'm absolutely panicking!! Please help xx

  • Hi Charlie77,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I hope you're getting on OK - I can understand the uncertainty and waiting for further information is never easy to deal with.

It's hard to advise on this, but it sounds like they are being thorough and I hope it's not too long to wait for your next appointment and to get the answers you need.

I'm sure there will be others here who have been through something similar, so hopefully you'll receive more replies soon.

    Wishing you all the best,

  • Hi

    I'm in a similar situation

I'm 57 and have apparently finished the menopause.

I'm due to have the coil removed under GA as recently they tried but couldn't get it

But the reason I went to gynaecology was when I wiped after going for a morning pee I'd have some reddy/brown stuff. Having period pains

Anyway this week had a trans vaginal camera,  and a attempt to get the coil oh dear god it was horrendously painful

At the end hw said we'll do a colposcopy to look at the cervix.  App in 2 weeks. I'm petrified x

    Hope your ok
