I am sorry to hear that you have been left in the dark about what to expect. Sometimes we have to ask some difficult questions of our care team and they don't always tell you, unless you ask outright. They are the people who know most about your partner's condition, his general health, etc. They cannot tell you anything unless your partner gives his permission, so make sure that he does this first of all. You will find it helpful if you and your partner draw up a list of questions before you see anyone, as it is all too easy to forget something important, during a consultation.
