Endometrial Atypical hyperplasia

Hi a few weeks ago I was diagnosed with EAH, on report of MRI was stated a tentatnervousive grade 1a not sure if tentative is 1a highest or lowest. As you can all imagine very nervous can't think of much else. Booked in for Hysterectomy with every removed on 5th January, more waiting and then after operation waiting for histology.  Any words of wisdom welcome.  Thank you

  • Hello deljen68

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some health problems and that following some tests you're now waiting for a hysterectomy. Undoubtedly this is an anxious time for you particularly as you won't have a firm diagnosis until after your surgery.

Hopefully the results in January will bring some good news and it will be a case of recovering from the surgery with no further treatment needed.

We know that waiting can be a difficult time for many people. Often it can help to talk with someone and I wonder if you might find it useful to chat things through with one of our team of nurses. I'm sure they would be happy to offer any advice and support they can ahead of your surgery next month. If you'd like to talk with them they're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.

Keep in touch deljen68 and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,

  • Thank you. Feeling very nervous as the date gets ever closer. Xx

  • Hi just an update. Had total hysterectomy with everything removed on Thursday 5th. Operation was key hole, all seems to have gone OK. I came home Friday afternoon.  Everyone was lovely in hospital.  I was cathaterized until Friday morning, which was uncomfortable.  Pain was OK and very manageable.  Had a great Saturday at home, felt very good.  Suffered a bit yesterday and today, so just taking thing easy, but feel a lot better than I thought I would.  Get results in 2 -3 weeks.

  • Just wanted to see if you got your results and how you are now? Hope doing ok. I’ve just been diagnosed with AEH and looking to have hysterectomy as told me 40% chance cancer in my womb.

  • Hi thank you.  Yes got results  I did end up back in hospital had a lot of bleeding but it stopped.  I was diagnosed with endometrial cancer stage 1a, which made things very real, but its all gone and nothing left.  Been feeling very good.  Recovery was good after little blip, no real pain.  I have suffered with lower back pain, its been painful to walk, but just started pilatus so hopefully that will help with my core.

How are you feeling I remembered being totally scared before operation, it was the not knowing.  I can say the operation was pretty painless and recovery slow but fine, just don't push yourself too much.  If you need any advice please just let me know
