Finally have a date for scan

Finally the wait is over, after the longest 2 weeks,I'm just going to waffle on a little forgive me, but it's the only place I can actually share how it's been for the past 2 weeks,as I know you will understand, so thank you for this forum, my 2 wk wait was up yesterday! However I hadn't heard anything from anyone, after calls to doctors and hospital, yesterday afternoon I was told it was Monday at 2.30, however because of postal strike I didn't receive the letter but I'm in on Thursday at 10 for a scan and a mammogram,a little worried as I thought it was just a scan , but I'm taking it as a positive to get both done on the same day without having to wait for anymore appointments, thanks for listening, this forum is great therapy xx

    Hi Lindz,

I am delighted to hear that you have now got an appointment for Thursday. What a pity that you missed the one on Monday, as even an additional 3 days' wait at this stage is pure torture. Still, I'm glad that the postal strike didn't delay things even further,

Don't worry about the mammogram. It is quite usual to have an ultrasound, a mammogram and a biopsy all done on the same day. There is usually then another wait of 1-2 weeks, before you get the results of these, so it is much easier for us if all the tests are carried out on the same day.

I sincerely hope that all turns out well for you. Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Awwww thank you for your reply, this is all new to me coming on here, and I have been isolating myself to be honest, I thought it was a little strange to have it all in one appointment, however, what will be will be, and today I am in a positive mental state of mind, which makes it a little easier than how I have been feeling, I will keep posting, take care Lindsay xx

  • Glad that you have got the scan and mammogram coming up next week. Maybe ask them when you can expect to be told the results while you are there? I just had to wait 6 weeks for the results of a CT scan and then I only got them because I hassled! Hopefully you will have a more positive experience and get some good news!

    Best Wishes,

    Simon

    Hi Lindz,

There is definitely nothing unusual about having all tests in the one appointment. I am glad to hear that you feel more positive today. You will find this forum a great source of support, should you need it. There is nothing that you cannot talk about, as someone here will have had the same experience.

I agree with Simon's advice. It is always a worrying time when you are waiting for results, but even more worrying when you don't know when to expect them.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx
