Vaginal bleeding

I am experiencing bleeding when I poop. I have a coil fitted so haven't had periods for over 7 years. Then the last couple of months I have been spotting or having what seems like a period, red blood, brown blood, streaks of blood then nothing. Then couple of days later, I poop and blood again. Saw Dr who examined me and said its coming from your vagina so don't worry. But I am ! They haven't said if I'm menopausal, I'm 50..have read it could be a hormonal thing..have to strain slightly to poop and I'm always bloated ???

Hiya, personally I think you should go back, surely anyone who hasn't had period for 7 years should be checked. Maybe nothing but you should def find out if is something. I stopped periods at 50 and at 56 got red/ brown blood, went staraight to doc and was put on 2 week pathway for checks. Sadly mine wasn't good but that doesn't mean yours will be the same, but u won't know till get checked

Your doc should put u on pathway to check this out, at least a vaginal scan, no bleed in 7 years could mean your in menopause, this means speedy appointment, least they do this on nhs, I've seen American hospital bills lol wow...but I wish you luck and fingers crossed is nothing and that u enjoy your new home in America xx

I would go back to your GP if you are concerned or have further questions. No periods on the coil is normal - I had over 7 years period free like yourself and then starting spotting. I was told hormonal - perimenopausal - but to stay on the coil another couple of years as it would help with menopause symptoms. The coil was removed at the time of my next smear and they expected that I would not get periods back but would be in menopause. Unfortunately for me that was not the case, I got daily bleeding for weeks on end, bloating and pain - ultrasound showed suspected polyps, which turned out to be fibroids - apparently very common prior to menopause and they normally shrink after, Personally I would go back and ask further questions

Can't get an appointment till maybe end of January but I'll be in USA so have phoned private hospital to see if they will help
