Hi, I am new to this site although having been following some of the posts over the last few weeks.
I came accross BIA-ALCL when in August 2022 researching symptoms for Dry Mouth, Dry Eyes, Raynauds Syndrome, Dry vagina & more, I came accross Sjogrens Syndrome, which linked to Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, and then I found details of BIA-ALCL. I then found the forums for this.
I had textured implants in 1997, which have since, unknown to me been banned by the FDA for sale in 2019. I had benign lump removed 1999, 3 clear mammograms, Saw surgery several times for lumps, but they sort of squidy and told lumpy breasts. In 2009 i found a lump in breast so went for mammogram/ultra sound - told benign changes & no worrying features. 2 more clear mammpograms in 2014/2016. In 2018. i found several lumps but were not seen on mammogram but ultra sound spotted them and biopsy confirmed cancerous. Had lumpectomy, it quite small so only treatment was Tomaxifen. 2019 in breast clinic I mention a lump, had Ultrasound but told it scar tissue palpable in breast, I still feel it a lump, which doctor could feel but doesnt show up. 2 more clear mammograms, 2020 I feel lots of lumps and swelling and pain - it clear. May 2021 I sent email to breast clinic with pictures of my breast, on several occasions over two weeks, where breast is swelling. Had ultrasound told it scar tissue. No mention of swelling or new lump . Sept 2021 i still worried about lumps but mammogram clear. July 2022 i found very small lump in armpit next to troubled breast - told it clear and a lymph gland.
August 2022 after research see doctor as have lots of lymph glands in neck and groin which I have had a long time and ask about Sjogens Syndrom/ Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, she very concerned about glands, sent to Hematology, where the doctor is expert in Lymphoma, she sent me for Pet CT scan, but when she sent letter to my doctor she gets all my facts wrong, saying that I had implants removed in 1997 not inserted. She did not inspect my breast only the lymph nodes, and said she not at all concerned as they all very small. Although my doctor at surgery, didnt think that.
Anyway at least I had the scan, it and all bloods have come back normal. I spoke to Hematology today told her she got facts wrong, and requested a CD30 test, she said no it wasnt necessary.
My question is can this be missed on Scan and bloods.
Sorry for long post, i thought all the facts might help my question.
