Dizzyness 6 months on from mastectomy. Has anyone had this?

Hi I had a left mastectomy in March 2022, all was going well until several weeks ago when I kept getting dizzy and now have vertigo very frequently, have stopped taking exemestane to see if that isn't helping.  I am still very dizzy starting to get me down as no one seems to know why or how I can get rid of it.  Has anyone had these problems or any info on how I can better deal with this.

Many thanks

  • Hello Shrubby

I'm sorry to hear that you've been having some issues with recurrent dizziness over the past few weeks. It's understandable that you may be feeling worried about this.

Dizziness is listed as a side effect of exemestane so it will be interesting to see if things improve whilst you take a break from the medication. But do keep in touch with your GP if things don't settle as there could be any other number of reasons for this health problem.

I do hope that things improve for you soon.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi Jenn

Thank you for replying to my post, the last couple of days I have not had a dizzy episode it has made such a difference to my daily life. Just need to see now if it stays away until December when I go back to the hospital then I will know if it is the exemestane or something else.   I still need to take things very slow at the moment but I can deal with that as long as the dizzy stays away.

    Thank you
