Heavy bleeding and clots 2 weeks after hysterectomy

I got up one morning 2 weeks after radical hysterectomy to have lots of blood and massive clots,so scared.Was told its normal,went to A and E anyway as was really worried.After examination told the same and sent home,but so worried it will happen again and somethings gone completely wrong.Would be so grateful if anyone else has had this and could stop my sleepless nights,thank you so much.

    Hello ShirlT, 

    You did well to go to A and E after you noticed all this bleeding following your radical hysterectomy. It's reassuring though that you were told twice that it was normal but I can understand why this was a bit frightening for you. If it does happen again, make sure to flag it with your GP and mention that it has happened a few times before and that this is worrying you. 

    I hope that you will hear from others here who have had this before and that they will be along shortly to share their experience with you. 

    Hopefully things will settle down for you and the bleeding will subside.
