Essential Thrombocythemia, 4 years and counting

Hi

Ive got ET and have had persistent ET for over 4yrs.  I have regular migraines which last about 5/6 days and thankfully treatment I'm having is Aspirin, Topirimate and Sumatriptan.

Since my menopause I binge eat and I worry I'm going to have a CVE or MI.

I can't get my head around me having thrombocythemia and for so long.  I can't get my head around why it's happening.

Apart from that I feel ok.

Any input would be greatfully received.

TIA

  • Hello DGNo1 and welcome to Cancer Chat.

I'm sorry to hear you've been living with E.T for quite some time. It must be very tough at times, especially when the migraines begin, but I'm glad the treatment you're having is helping with that.

We do have quite a few Essential Thrombocyaethemia members on the forum so hopefully some of them will be along soon to offer you their thoughts, advice and support but do feel free to post on any discussions you find about E.T when using the 'search forum' option in the purple bar above.

You're also very welcome to talk things through with our team of cancer nurses on 0808 800 4040. They're available Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m and will do all they can to help.

Our community are here for you DGNo1 and truly understand what you are going through.

    Kind regards,
