Colposcopy

Hi I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place I've never done this before.

in 2020 I had an abnormal smear result and was sent to colposcopy, they took a biopsy and it discovered I had cin level 3 changes (inner cervix) I had to have two treatments done (HPV negative)

fast forward a year (2021) was diagnosed with squamous cell carsinoma (tongue and neck)

after some fairly traumatic surgery I was given the all clear

i had my follow up appointment up appointment at colposcopy this year (told them about the other cancer)

they took another biopsy and I've been told that it's cin level 1. Should I be worried? Could this develope quickly in to somethings else?

if you've already had cin level 3 can level 1 change faster in to level 3?

does anyone have any experience with this?

many thanks!x

  • Hi Ollie_83,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. You may find it useful to have a chat to one of our nurses about this - they are likely to be able to advise on some of your questions.

To do this, you can either post in the 'Ask the Nurses' section of this forum, or you can give them a call on 0808 800 4040 (Monday-Friday, 9-5).

Also if others here have similar experience to share then hopefully they'll be along soon to send a reply.

    Wishing you all the best,
