Sacred

I attended my GP as I had a very small red\pink pigmented area around 1 cm long which I have had for about 8 weeks with no improvement or no worse.  I have no other symptoms of breast cancer and GP did a comprehensive check of breast.  She told me she did not think it was serious but was going to refer me to breast clinic for reassurance.  I rang today to find out if referral had be done yet and I was told it was sent over as urgent so I am scared now.  Although I was told that based on the information provided on the referral it will be the breast clinic consultants who will decide if it is urgent.  GP had put on referral that it appears to be non serious. Any advice?

The other thing which I want to ask around the same time that this happened I had a Chest CT scan for another problem I want to see if Chest CT Scan can detect Breast Cancer.

I'm sorry to hear that you've recently had some concerns about your breast health. it's good to know that you've already seen your GP and that although they don't have any immediate concerns they've referred you to get this checked.

We know that the vast majority of people seen in breast clinic aren't diagnosed with cancer so try to think positively and keep busy. Hopefully, you won't have to wait too long for your appointment.

Waiting for appointments can be a worrying time. If you want to chat things through with one of our nurses for some advice and support you're welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

Keep in touch and let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
