Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Hi all. I've just been diagnosed with invasive carcinoma which is triple negative. I've had another ultrasound and mammogram done, another biopsy on an enlarged lymph node under my arm and awaiting an appointment for an MRI. When this comes back we'll know more about it and the doctors etc will sort a plan.

I'm only 30 and have a 6 month old son so would love to hear from anyone who has been through anything similar and what your treatment was. Not so I know for myself 100% but sort of a rough idea. I'm keeping my positive hat on until I have a reason to not but it's hard isn't it!

thank you x

  • Hi there,

Sorry to find you on here.  It's such a shock isn't it.  My BC was oestrogen positive but I have a close relative who was diagnosed triple negative at a similar age to you.  7 years on she's doing extremely well and leading a busy and full life and is absolutely fine.  She had lumpectomy, chemo and radiotherapy.
The treatment was tough going but it blitzed it!
Once you know your treatment plan you will feel much better.  You are right to stay positive, they will look after you and you will get through this, one step at a time.

Wishing you all the best with the treatment plan.  You've got this!

  • Hi Abby,

So sorry to read your post. I wasn't triple Negative but I had Invasive Ductal Carcicoma Stage 1 20mm Grade 3, HER2-. I have just finished all my treatment,I had a lumpectomy, FEC-T for 6 sessions, which was 3xFEC 3xDocetaxil then radiotherapy' I'm now on prostap jabs and Anastrole

im 38 with two young sons! I was diagnosed in October. I have never been so frightened. This part is the worst, whee we you have everything on the table you will feel much better. The treatments are so advanced, you will be ok, your team will make sure you have the best care as me treatment. Chemo is tough for the first 7 days then your ok again, it's not nice but doable.

you can do this! You have got this.

    love Sarah
