Awaiting biopsy results for breast cancer

I am awaiting my results for breast cancer.I went to the doctors with a suspected lump in my left breast the doctor thought it wasn't anything to be concerned about but referred me anyway because of my age.I went on Wednesday thinking everything would be fine but after a scan,mammogram and a biopsy I was told by the doctor he was 99% sure it was breast cancer he did say my lypmth nodes are clear.I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this and what there outcome was.I have so many questions to ask but I feel like I can't till I know my results.

    The waiting is awful isn't it -not knowing, the whole lack of control...

    This is my second time here.  This time last year I was recalled after routine mammogram (no symptoms but they saw an area of distorted tissue so rated me B3) and had 2 lots of biopsies before I was told no cancer found but needed to have annual mammograms for 5 years.

    The week before last had a mammogram and guess what -recalled again for 3d mammogram ultrasound and biopsy, so here I am riding the rollercoaster of emotions again.

    When do you get your results? I was told on Thursday I would get a phone call with an appointment after a week and a half...so the days are just dragging by.

    Hi,thank you for your reply.So sorry you are having to deal with the same thing yet again must be awful especially when you have already gone through all these emotions before.It's so hard I think the not knowing is the worst once you know you can prepare yourself.I find out Friday just want it to be here now.I also find out the results on Friday but due to go away on the following Wednesday just hope we can still go for the sake of the children (I know it's not the end of the world and have hopefully plenty more opportunities to go)

    Fingers crossed for you on Friday -and you definitely deserve a holiday to recover from this stress.

    Everyone who's been through this says the waiting is almost the worst part so that if or when you do get bad news it's actually easier as you know what you are dealing with. 

    Just make sure someone is with you on Friday who can write down what they say. I literally only heard the 'no cancer was found ' last year so I didn't actually know what they did find that meant they wanted me to have annual scans (I called before the biopsy and apparently I had atypical cells FEA) Might be worth writing down some questions to ask and asking for copy of the histology report?

    Yes I feel I will be a lot more prepared once I know,it's hard because I keep reading other peoples stories and one minute I feel positive and the next I'm not but everyone's story is different so I'm going to try stay away from readings until I know.Yes I will have my husband with me he will take it all in.I'm scared of having chemo I don't want to lose my hair I think it will knock my confidence but then it's not the end of the world and it will grow back (I have to keep telling myself) I would rather be here and get better.
