Thickening of 11cm

I was referred on 2 week rule due to bleeding in November (I'm 59).I found that My womb was 11cm thick.I had biopsy & had to wait over 3 weeks for results where my anxiety was thorough the roof. Results were clear but bleeding continued.I have had to wait almost 9 months for follow up due to cancelled appointments. I had a hysteroscopy today.I had a polyp which was 30mm long.It has been sent off to be checked but doctor said it was very smooth and he didn't think that there is anything sinister.I can't tell anyone not to worry but wanted to try to help anyone who is waiting as I know it's awful and trawling the Internet doesn't help x

  • I had similar issue recently. 7cm thickening found after fast track for post menopausal bleed. I had hystetosvopy and removal of polyp just over 2 weeks ago. Waiting for results,  like you, consultant seemed to think it wasn't sinister.

On examination he found VIN and also carried out skinning excision to vulva that has also worried me although he has explained it is a precancerous condition and he did a wide clearance. It is very sore just now and has knocked the stuffing out of jme to be honest.

I hope we both get our results soon.

My husband of 39 years  died from pancreatic cancer 5 months ago, then his sister died from gall bladder cancer 2 months ago so I have found having to deal with this on top has been really hard. It has affected me a lot as I really did not need any more worry for myself or my son and his family after all the sadness recently.

I miss my husband so much and having to deal with this without him by my side has broken my heart all over again and although I tell my son that I am doing fine I feel very alone right now..

  • So sorry to hear of your losses.I lost my lovely dad to covid last September .My father in law has stage 4 lung cancer and my mother I law has Azheimer's. I really don't have time to be sick .My husband is so upset about his parents that I have to make light of things as he has enough on and I also don't like to worry my sons .What were your symptoms of VIN? I hadn't heard of this and will look out for symptoms.
