Bowel cancer and prostate cancer

I am a 62 year old male and have had a cancerous growth removed from my bowel. I did not need any chemo or radiotherapy after the original operation. I am currently having an MRI scan every 3 months. Will this scan also pick up prostate cancer? Having had one cancer do you become oblivious to others?

Your views would be appreciated as I don't want to become complacent about other cancers.
