Awaiting appointment

Hi everyone,

I'm currently awaiting my appointment from my TWR and the wait is killing me! To cut a long story short I've had bleeding in between periods (some heavy for days like a period, then only spotting, back to heavy), I've had discharge which had streaks of blood, horrible, constant pains in my stomach and back and feeling tired all the time. I ended up being taken to hospital and eventually after a second visit (first they couldn't see my cervix because of the amount of blood inside me) the gynaecologist was able to see that my cervix was enlarged and everytime he touched it blood poured out. There was also an issue with my uterus wall, he said he strongly suspects one of two cancers; cervical or Endometrial cancer.

It's only been 3 days but I'm getting impatient waiting for this appointment for a colposcopy.

  • Waiting is awful and gives us too much thinking time, l hope you have an early appointment and see the gynaecologist soon. Last year I had my overies removed by gynaecology oncology they were really good and sorted me out quickly. My operation was within 8 weeks much quicker than on the non urgent list.

The surgeon stuck with my adhesions and spent 41/2 hours removing them she said most surgeons would have bailed leaving me with the problem.
l hope you hear soon they can be quick when necessary if you haven't heard anything in a week or so try ringing the consultants secretary, they were really helpful and contacted the consultant for me and rang  me with my operation date.
    take care

  • Hi, sorry to hear this. I hope you've heard by now with an appointment? I'm waiting for an urgent colposcopy too, following bleeding & severe pain since December, Dr saw a lesion on my cervix too, so referred me under the 2ww last week. It feels so long doesn't it. Good luck x
