Hello breathnow
I'm glad to hear that you're still going strong nearly two decades after your diagnosis and surgery. I'm sure that that news will give hope and support to other ladies who find themselves facing similar circumstances in the future.
I am sorry to hear that your reconstructive surgery left you with ongoing nerve pain. I'm sure that it has had a big impact on your quality of life over these past 19 years and it's understandable that you want to make sure that others who may be considering a DIEP reconstruction are aware of the possible problems.
The decision to reconstruct or remain flat following a mastectomy is a big one and a very personal choice. It's important that women explore all the options and understand the risks v benefits so that they make the right decision for their circumstances.
I hope that in the future that you're able to find something that will help you better manage your pain.
Sending my best wishes,
Jenn
