Hi all so i had a 6 month check up today after my full hysterectomy but id like to know is it a normal thing to have a biopsy taken? Or did they take it because something didnt look right?
I did not have a biopsy taken at 6 or 12 months, my next check up is in September, in fact they checked very little, I was surprised by how little they checked. Not sure on anyone else's experiences with check ups after a total hysterectomy for womb cancer. Only thing they checked was a blood test at 6 weeks post op, and at 12 month's.
Thank you for your responce, i had a full hysterectomy last november leaving my ovaries as a few yrs ago i had stage 1a1 but it was removed via a lletz, i got offered a hysterectomy because i had finished my family so i had a think, i found out my mom had cervical cancer and sadly passed away nearly 2 yrs ago now so i made my decision and went for it.
But yesterday i had a smear and a biopsy i just thought this was a normal procedure, im trying not to worry as it may just be nothing but its hard not to think about it.
