Hi am new.., does anyone have this type
First week August I noticed orange peel skin on the treated right breast.
Called surgery and told to come in the next day which I did.
Saw a nurse who looked at right breast and straight away said she was referring me for URGENT appointment at xxxxxHospital at breast Unit.
On 23 Sept 2022 saw breast surgeon at xxxxxxhospital breast Unit.
Surgeon examined and felt my right breast and said nothing there but when she examined and felt my left breast she felt a noticeable lesion.
My appointment was at 9am and I left the hospital at 2:30pm.
I was sent by surgeon for a 3d mammogram,an ultrasound and a core biopsy that same day with promise she would refer me for an urgent CT whole body scan and a bone scan.
I had CT scan last week and I retrieved the results myself.....please understand if I do not share with anyone on the forum how I did this.......but I did.
Having a copy of the scan images and the report I took these to GP and basically it's squeaky bum time between the surgery and the hospital.
I read the report which clearly states that 9mm lesion on left breast taken during the planning scan image at end of March 2022 for tattoo before starting radiotherapy first week in April.
The surgeon on Friday there indicated removal of tumour from left breast and 5 axillary lymph nodes followed by radiotherapy.
Im waiting for date for the breast surgery to left breast.
Me too I hope I get this sorted without wasting more time as I don't want to reach the critical point where nothing can be done.
This is surely negligent if you ask me , so at radiotherapy planning do they scan both breasts ? And check further or is it for mark up purposes only Surely they should have investigated this at the time for you x
Hi laraj
You are very much on the same page as me regarding negligence.
I don't know if at radiotherapy planning they scan both breasts as a matter of course.
My very low risk tumour in right breast was close to the wall of my lungs near my breastbone.
This is such a good point regarding if both breasts are scanned during planning scan as routine procedure.
It is something that I'm going to ask new oncologist after surgery to left breast when radiotherapy starts and a new tattoo in place for mark up purposes.
I would have thought like you that this should have been investigated for me as the report I received last week plus images indicates clearly that on 22 March 2022 the 9mm lesion was evident in my left breast.
This is why I'm shocked as to why any oncologist would not have looked at the planning scan and noticed this anomaly
I'm so so terribly sorry that you were probably feeling free and now got to go through all this again , I would be on the phone to the hospital to make a formal complaint and meeting with a solicitor this is definitely not ok hun , I feel so sorry that you are going through this x
Yes laraj
I was relieved I had been caught early......or so I thought.
Not only going through this again but the total collapse in trust in the system.
I am busy gathering up the actual scan results and awaiting the bone scan report which will be proof of what has been going on.
The problem is that if the NHS consultants think you are going to sue they quickly close ranks and so far I've indicated to the GP that I want to turn diagnosis on its head because I don't want them squabbling amongst themselves or behaving in such a way to slow up my treatment.
My tumour is growing at a rate of 2mm a month so it's aggressive and I don't want it spreading elsewhere anytime soon.
I will see if I am allocated another oncologist after surgery and find out what the staging turns up before making any legal moves.
Good that you are being clever with it , is it sane cancer or different do you no ? I thought her2 negative was slower or is it the triple negative that's more quicker growing ?
Hi laraj
it is a different cancer.
My initial cancer was hormone positive as in oestrogen positive and progesterone positive but herceptin negative.
Now in the space of a few months it's gone to Triple A Negative.
My professional background makes me question how it's flipped from positive to negative and this is a question I will be asking new oncologist after I get surgery.
I have figured out it's aggressive as CT scan in Sept showed it measured 21cm x 20cm.
CT scan report also indicated that planning scan at end of March there was a lesion measuring 9mm.
21mm minus 9mm is 11mm.
22 March to 23 Sept is 6 months.
round up 11mm to 12 mm and divide by 6 gives approx 2 mm growth per month which is aggressive.
I've been. Stressed it being 2 months and you've waited since March xx disgusting hun you need strong words with someone ,i understand the nhs are stretched but you need sorting out xxx
