struggling to breathe

is there any home treatment to help with someone  struggling to breathe she has lung cancer

  • Hello Bavu1500

I'm unsure from your post if the breathing difficulties that the lady in question has are new or if they are an ongoing symptom of her lung cancer.

If this is a new problem please do get in touch with NHS 111 as they will be best placed to support you with advice or to arrange for her to see a medical professional over the weekend.

If this is not a new problem and is a continued symptom of her cancer, then I'd suggest getting in touch with her Consultant or clinical nurse specialist next week for some advice and support.

If you have any concerns then do reach out to NHS 111 or call 999 if you feel it's an emergency situation.

    Best wishes,

  • she is my mum not in england she is abroad thanks

  • Hello Bavu1500,

I am not sure where your mum lives but I hope that you can tell her or anyone by her side about equivalent services that exist abroad so she can talk to someone about it as Jenn suggested. Perhaps it would be good to mention these breathing difficulties to your mother's medical team and she will be able to advise you further I am sure. Whatever home treatment she considers getting, it is important that it is dicussed with her consultant. I hope that your mum's breathing improves soon. There is a list of overseas cancer organisations on this page where you might be able to find a cancer organisation near your mum's location that may be able to help point you in the right direction and provide more information as to who to contact if you want to talk to someone especially over the weekend.
