Hi everyone,   i am 59 and went through menopause at 52, i struggled with the side effects for a year or two and then decided to go on HRT tablets,  Last June i had bleeding and contacted my doctor and two weeks later had a scan and hysteroscopy and a biopsy was taken!   I was told that i had a lining thickness of 5mm so slightly over normal -  the biopsy results came back four weeks later which were inconclusive and i was basically discharged by the hospital and told to get back in contact wit my gp if anymore bleeding occurred!   In January i had another slight bleed and contacted my gp who said she would refer me to hospital again!  the bleeding disappeared quickly but 6 weeks later i got more bleeding which lasted 3 days so i rang gp again! turns out she had omitted to refer me weeks ago and said she would try and get me an urgent appointment!  waiting list was 8-10 weeks, i was beside myself,  i kept ringing referrals and on second attempt last week and getting very upset on phone they gave me a cancellation on Thursday straight to hysteroscopy.  I went and had the scan first,   she said that my womb lining is now 6.9 at the top and she could see a small white cloud like image in uterus,  she said it was very small and could be a polyp!  She then did the hysteroscopy but could not detect the white cloud thing as camera not clear enough. i also have a tilted uterus.  she said that because she couldn't detect it on the camera that she is now sending me for a more detailed and clearer hysteroscopy-  a more detailed machine.  She took a biopsy but said she didn't know what she would get back from it.  I got very very upset in the room and said could it be cancer and they played it right down saying this was common and trying to reassure me it would be fine!  she said i would get a more a coil fitted at same time and oestrogen patches!   I am beside yield with worry and now have a 4 week wait to endure for both biopsy results and for next hysteroscopy and then if there is something they will remove it and then another 4 week wait for results!   Has anyone had anything similar and what was the outcome?   i can't sleep or eat at mo and knowing i hsve another 4 weeks wait is making me ill.   Thanks x
