pains in chest

Hi Everybody my name is john and i am 67. Diagnosed with an upper right lobe adenocarcinoma around 16 months ago. Chose not to have chemo. last few weeks I have been seriously breathless (I already had severe copd). I am stage 4 with what looks like invasion to the pleura. Along with the extreme breathessness which makes me struggle to walk for 15 minutes I have sharp pain in my right chest where the cancer is when I stand up or move about etc. This is getting scary. Waiting for latest CT scan results. Has anyone else had these sharp pains ? I am on oxycodone

  • Hello John and welcome to our forum,

Poor you it sounds like you are really struggling at the moment and this breathlessness combined with the sharp pain in your right chest must be so difficult to bear. I assume you have already mentioned this pain to your medical team as you are awaiting your latest CT scans results. I hope that you won't have to wait too long for those results and that they will shed some light on what is going on. Keep us updated if you get a moment when you find out more.

Our nurses are also available on this free number 0808 800 4040 if there is anything you would like to discuss with them - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have been in a similar situation and who have had these sharp pains and that they will be along shortly to share their story with you.

    Best wishes,
