I’m worried

Hello I have never used this before but I'm Harry I'm 17 and I am at the point now where any slight problem with my body I instantly think I've got cancer I've got this that and the other as I've had a headache for the last 3 days and I, go onto Google and the first thing that pops us is "brain cancer" and idk if it's health anxiety I have or me just being silly as a headache could be a number of things. But im going to the doctors tomorrow and im going to tell the doctor how im feeling. I just don't want to feel boxed up anymore as health anxiety really does take over your life, as I try to do things go on walks or play games to take my mind away from it, but it just stays there and I just don't want to feel like this anymore.

Any advice would mean the world to me

thank you ️

  • Hi Harry,

First off, may I say this - try to relax, take a few DEEP breaths and try (REALLY TRY!) to think positive thoughts!

I'm an 'old fart' (65 years of age) and I have had Stomach Cancer; had surgery in 2019 - and am still here!

Like you - back when I was a youngster - I went through a period of thinking that every ache and pain I had COULD be a sign of Cancer. But you know what, the likelyhood of what you're experiencing being Cancer is really remote! Never heard of 'growing pains?'

I'm pretty sure that your Doctor will confirm my 'diagnosis' and I also feel sure that in 50 years time, you'll think to yourself "What WAS wrong with me back then?"  And, "Heck, that old fart, "Dordio" was right!"

Take care, stay safe and all the best. :-)

  • Hi Harry, I'm 68 and had cervical pre cancer 30+ years ago, and breast cancer 23 years ago which has come back.

Don't waste your life looking for the worst of things. I'm sure your Dr will reassure you and do any tests he thinks necessary.

Oh, and stop Googling !!!! It's enough to scare anyone to death. Good luck at the DR's.
