Newbie - Again

Why newbie again? Well over 25 years ago I had a mole removed from my arm that turned out to be a malignant melanoma.

I just had something removed from my leg and I'm waiting on the results back. It didn't look like a melanoma., more pinky red than brownish.

I think the dermatologist really didn't like the look of it either as I now have 5 stitches and a two inch, soon to be, scar.

Im a tad worried about this one as it snuck up on me hiding on the  back of my leg.

Well that's me for now, playing the waiting game.

  • Hello Angela-m,

Poor you having to go through this again 25 years on - at least this forum exists now and I hope it will help you to share experiences with others who have been through something similar. I hope that the 5 stitches and two inch scar are not too painful.

Waiting for results is always a stressful experience and I can imagine you are feeling a bit anxious right now as you are playing the waiting game. I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. This might turn out to be a completely different thing from what you had 25 years ago. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Thanks Lucie

I got a call today to go back to the hospital this Friday as the dermatologist has got my results back and wants to talk to me.

It's been just over a week since I went in and they removed 'it' I haven't even had the stitches out yet, I can't fault their response time.
