Sorry you find yourself here but glad that you reached out. This forum can be a great source of support and advice!

It's totally understandable to be scared and the waiting is the absolute worst. The only advice I can give for the coming weeks is to try and stay busy/distracted, do nice things when you can, spend time with your son, and friends/family. You will find your mind wanders to a dark place and you feel frightened and fear the worst but this is totally natural (not fun but natural!).

I was diagnosed with DCIS after finding calcifications but also had other symptoms so no need to assume your news will be bad. It's more likely to be nothing. And once you know, either way, you can come to terms /put it behind you.

im sorry you are going through the awful waiting game. I had a biopsy last Thursday after getting a recall on a routine mammogram, 3 small white calcification spots and a shadow which is scaring me a bit. I too haven't mentioned anything to my daughters as they are doing uni exams. It's difficult keeping it to yourself although I do have my husband thank goodness. It seems a long time to wait for the results, I have a 3 week wait so just 2 more to go. I think the best advice is to keep as distracted as you can. Reading your post tonight has reminded me that I am not alone and neither are you. There must be so many women waiting for results, you don't think about it until it happens to you. I hope you can keep positive and remember you are not alone. I don't know if you can exercise but I have found it very helpful and going for walks. Take care and very much thinking of you. Xx

Thanks for your reply. Sorry your going through this too. The wait is the worst! Ive been keeping busy in work and spending quality time with my son out of work. 

Good you have your husband as support. Totally understand you not telling your daughters. Best to find out first cos everything crossed you be okay.

I know you will feel terribly worried about your calcifications.  The wait for biopsy results is very difficult, especially if you have children.  The only thing that will help is to try to distract yourself and stay busy.  Take things a day at a time.
 

Calcifications are very often benign and whilst we tend to think the worst, we really shouldn't as you will only know the outcome on results day.  Stay positive and take someone with you.  There is no point being in a hole of anxiety in the here and now.  Difficult I know and you will have bad days.

Having gone through this myself I can say that the uncertainty of not knowing is the worst time but there is every chance your calcifications will be benign so try not to overthink too much for now. 
 

My calcifications weren't benign but low grade DCIS with a very small 1mm invasive.  So it's been found very early and will be sorted.  You will feel better once you know what you are dealing with, or you may be dealing with nothing at all hopefully, so do stay positive.  It's terribly hard to keep things in perspective when going through this but do try if you can.
