  • Hi. So sorry to hear this. This is my first post on here as I am too looking for advice and chat aout kidney cancer.

My mum who is 76 was diagnosed with a tumour on her kidney in November last year following a routine scan for her arthritis (no symptoms whatsoever). She had a CT scan followed by a kidney biopsy. The biopsy showed it was in her left kidney and in the surrounding lymph nodes which had slowly been growing for around 7 or 8 years without her knowing. With it being in her lymph nodes they can't cure it so won't put her through an op to remove the kidney, so they have referred her for chemo at Clatterbridge to hopefully slow the growth and give her a decent shot at a few more years with us.

I wish you all the best ladymonkey.xx

  • Good evening ,

I hope everything goes well, i was having a scan for arthritis too, ,that when they found it ,as my hand is swollen ,lumps came up ,2 fingers touch my palm and  the rest look like a letter c , i can not open jars ,cans , can not drive anymore , can not hardly use left hand anymore , i saw rheumatology she thinks it is symptons caused by tumor called paraneoplastic phenomenon , looked this up , i was shocked because i had alot of these symptoms ,but never thought it was linked to cancer ,as my fingers promblem started in sept 2020 ,being having test since ,i hope this helps you never know.
