Todays breast clinic appt ….. and an introduction

Hello all,

1st post and new to the forums so wanted to say hi and post about my appt today.

To start with, I have had a breast appt in 2013, and 2020 due to right sided breast issue - pain, swelling etc. Both times o was advised it was due to density and given guidance.

6 months ago I had lost weight for my wedding and noticed in Dec some 'extra skin' under my right breast. Difficult to explain but it was almost like a thickening. I contacted my GP end of Jan as I was also having pain and was seen today.

Skin issue seems to be potentially weight loss related but as breast are dense and there was targeted pain, I had a mammogram. Totally Unremarkable but they wanted to do an ultrasound aswell.

This however showed a shadow which looks like a line and small mass.
Sonographer decided to do a needle biopsy and clip there  and then as she wasn't convinced it wasn't anything to be concerned about (we talked about Coopers ligament issues but doesn't look like that as no attachment ). Armpit and upper breast all good.

Saw Consultant immediately after who I appreciate the candour and truth. Can't say if it's anything or not but if it is then it's early stage and treatable.
So now to wait.

Just really wanted to drop by and say hello and post.

Take care!

  • Hoping you get positive news ♥️

  • Hi Cattibrie,

A very warm welcome to our forum.

This is always a worrying time when you are waiting for results. You have done the right thing by getting checked out. You find that most consultants don't mince their words - in fact sometimes they can be too blunt and set our imaginations into overdrive. It is never easy to deal with the unknown. Have you been told when your results will be back? I hope that you get them soon.

What your consultant has said sounds hopeful - it could still be nothing, but if it is something you have caught it early and it is treatable. Breast cancer is one of the most treatable forms of cancer today. I myself have had 2 bouts in the past 12 years and I still live a busy and fulfiling life.

Please keep in touch and let us know how you get on. We are always here for you.

    Kind regards,

    Jolamine xx

  • Hi i get my suspected breast cancer diagnosis tomorrow morning.I found a lump on my right breast in january, went to the doctors then had 1st hospital appt 9th feb.Examination, mammogram, needle biopsy with the local anaest and clip needle.

The doctor who did my ultra sound then needle biopsy did say there is some thing there but wouldnt en lighten me more. This waiting game must be the worst feeling ive ever had,my mum passed from ovarian cancer may 2019,she had breast cancer in her 40s so weve high risks around any cancer. You get the feeling if its this long then it must be good news, but then you get the feeling maybe they are doing more tests and its not good news.

Ive not been sleeping or eating very well, but today ive had the feeling of what will be will be,ive written a list of questions for the doctor which i will give my friend tomor morning to hand the doctor incase its bad news.Try to put it to the back of your mind until you get an appt to go back for results i always talk too much if ever you want a chat drop me a message,Denise.x
