Polyp found on cervix, v.worried as just diagnosed with BC

hi , i'm new on this post.

I was diagnosed breast cancer last week.

i had my smear today and was very anxious as i left it since last year to attend. Practice nurse could not proceed cos she spotted a polyp on my cervix . i will need to go to hospital to hve it removed and i suspect investigated. my periods have been a little heavier than usual but no more symptoms. 

i'm very anxious. i am 52 year old

    I'm sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of breast cancer and also that your recent cervical screening appointment highlighted another problem. It's perfectly understandable that you're feeling anxious about things. 

    There's some good information about cervical polyps on this NHS website page that will hopefully offer you some reassurance. 

    It can help to talk things through with someone and if you'd like to speak with our nurses about your breast cancer diagnosis and/or the cervical polyps you're most welcome to call them. They're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

    Hopefully, over the coming weeks, both the breast team and the gynaecology department will be able to give you some answers and reassurance about the next steps forwards in resolving these issues.
