I have just a few weeks ago been in your position.  I went for my 3 yearly mammogram on 24th received a recall letter for appt. at Breast Assessment clinic for 29th.  I was able to speak to a nurse before appt.  I was told that something small was showing on left side which wasn't on last mammogram but that this could be something normal to me.  Like you I was very anxious and lost my husband to cancer just over 5 years ago.  A doctor spoke to me on the telephone also I explained I could feel no lumps.  Doctor explained this is why we do mammograms to find anything before it becomes anything.  

I went along to my second appt.  the Doctor and everyone concerned were very professional and reassuring and I was very lucky to be told what was showing was a cyst.  It was quite small and was drained.  They repeated the Ultrasound Scan and another mammogram to check the cyst had gone which it had. I was lucky to be told by the doctor I had nothing at all to worry about.

They explained that cysts are common can reoccur or can be quite large bur they are not in anywy meaning you will have breast cancer in the future.
