I have just been diagnosed with MCC and need to go for two biopsies - one in my lung and one in my neck - I'm frightened by it all.

Hello GTed
I'm so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis of Merkel cell cancer (MCC). It's perfectly understandable that you're feeling frightened by the diagnosis and the prospect of further biopsies.
Although MCC is a rare diagnosis, what you're feeling at the moment is a natural reaction to a cancer diagnosis and I know that many of our members here will understand how you're feeling. Hopefully, some of them will post to share their words of advice and support with you soon.
I've linked above some of the information that we have on our website about MCC but I also wanted to let you know that we have a team of nurses that you can call to talk with. I'm sure they will be happy to offer and information, advice, and support that they can to help you. They're available Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm on 0808 800 4040.
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for your biopsies and the Consultant will be able to give you some firmer information and reassurance when the results are all back.
Keep in touch GTed and let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Jenn
