Dad has Merkel cell carcinoma stage 4

Hello, so glad i found this group. Looking for advice or just someone with a simlier experiance to chat to.

My dad who is 61 has been diagnosed with stage 4 Merkel cell carcinoma. He has had the tumor removed and 30 sessions of radiotherapy but he is really struggling. Not helped by him not asking the questions that need to asked because he doesnt want to know the answer. He is recenlty starting to struggle with being in a lot of pain and also depressed which is totally understandable. Does anyone know how long after radiotherapy treatment has finished, can he have a pet scan done to see if radiotherapy has help reduce the cancer. It has also spread to his lymph node too.

Any adivce or help would be very welcome.
