IDC EV+ HER- 8mm

Well that didn't go to plan! Achy, lumpy boobs.

Drs 8/12/22. 2 week fast track. Seen consultant on the 16/12/21. Mammogram and US on 4/1/22 lots of dense breast tissue. Loads of cysts on both breast. Right breast simple cysts. Left complex cyst. Biopsy on 7/1/22. Longest wait of my life. Inside I had a horrible feeling and just knew something wasn't right. 25/1/22 diagnosed. There was a lump hiding behind a cyst. Incidental finding. Next step lymph node biopsy and contrast MRI.
I'm absolutely petrified it's spread but I'm trying to stay calm. The consultant said it was caught early.

I'm 46 with a family and of all the tick boxes for risk factors I was low. It's happening I will deal with it. I've named it candice and she needs to go!!!

  • Hi agapanthus,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to hear of what's brought you here but I hope that the forum can offer you some support and I'm sure it will be helpful to connect with others in similar situations.

It sounds like you're coping with things well although no doubt there will be some worries, particularly while there is still some uncertainty. I hope that it's not too long to wait for you to get all the information you need and the relevant next steps in place. It's also good to hear that the consultant seems positive.

We're always here for support if ever you need it. Wishing you all the best,

    Ben

  • Hi Ben,

thank you. I know it's going to be a long journey but I'm trying to be positive. The fear of the unknown is the worse. (As are the nights when my brain won't switch off!).

    Have a lovely day
