High grade DCIS with micro-invasion to lymph node

Hi everyone, in late 2020 I was diagnosed with high grade dcis

And due to it covering most of my breast, I required a mastectomy. I had microinvasion in the first sentinel lymph node so they removed 3 of them. I know I was very lucky to catch the cancer in time but I now live with the dread of a recurrence in the chest wall or the opposite breast. I didn’t have a lump when I was diagnosed, just an itch and some dry skin on my left nipple.

  • Hi, I'm sorry to hear this. Did you have any other treatment after the masectomy? I haven't finished treatment yet, but I already find myself worrying about reoccurrence or getting it in the other boob. Hard not too, so I totally understand your fears. I keep telling myself, it's the unknown and I have to try to focus on now and not worry about what may never happen. Not always easy though. Sending a virtual hug, Mickey xx ️
