Hi there I'm due to go in for partial thyroid surgery on Wednesday I had a fna and results were thy3f suspicious if follicular growth and I have to waitb10 days for results I'm very worried anyone else had this results and what was outcome
Hey. I didn't have that result but did have thyroid cancer - papillary thyroid cancer in my case - and had my entire thyroid removed. The good news (if there is any such thing in this situation) is that thyroid cancer is generally a comparatively "mild" form of cancer. Even if you do have thyroid cancer, it will probably just mean getting the rest of your thyroid removed.
I've had no trouble. Just carrying on with my life as I was before the surgery.
Hello! I have had the same FNA thyroid results and I am waiting to know when my surgery will be. I am really anxious about it. How long after the FNA they arranged your surgery? Have you done any tests before? I wish all the best for you on Wednesday!
Hi it was about 11 weeks for my scheduled surgery I only had the fna test done with the results being thy3f suspicious for follicular growth I'm a little anxious but I'm sure it will all be fine hope things go well for you also thanks
Thank you for your reply! when possible, let us know how you feel after surgery. hopefully, it will be a benign nodule. I have an aunt that underwent this surgery, her nodule was benign and she haven't been taking any hormones, because the side that stayed is supplying. wish you the best!
Hi Deia of course it's nice to hear from people going through the same as yourself I believe most of the results are very often benign but until you get your results you feel like life is on hold if I remember to take my I pad into hospital I'll reply if not definitely home on Thursday I'll keep you posted take care and when you eventually get a date for your surgery keep me posted speak soon
