So sorry that you have been through this it's not my experience my last colonoscopy was a ct scan, the only uncomfortable bit was the IV and the feeling that l was going to pee myself when the solution went through. My gp said they are using scans here now rather than the usual colonoscopy. They are quicker and you don't have to wait to recover afterwards no sedation is needed. I would be happy to have another one if needed. They found ovarian cysts not bowel at all!  As the referral goes straight through to the appropriate clinic l was seen in gynaecology oncology in three weeks my gp didn't know until l told her afterwards. 

I hope you have your results soon and they are good . I would contact PALS at the hospital and tell them about your experience. They can look into it for you and advise you what to do next.
